LATE 19TH/EARLY 20TH C. LARGE CHINESE SILK EMBROIDERY ON SILK TEXTILE made up as a flat wall hanging or bed cover, of pale gold silk, beautifully rendered expert silk satin stitch embroidery of flowers, animals, figures, backed, with coordinating cord edge border - approx. h:10' x w:6'5" h:10 w:6.50 in. Provenance: acquired 1928-1939 by consignor's grandfather who was a Consular Official in Chongquing in 1939, leaving prior to the Japanese invasion, to Boston.
