SAMPLER. Ellen Beesley, probably English, 1847, silk on linen. Signed with name and date and makers age, "13". Small motifs worked in pairs including sailing ships, men, hearts, birds, dogs and baskets as well as stylized shrubs and trees. Slight imperfections. Framed, 13"h. 22 1/2"w.
