EARLY SAMPLER. Ann Thomson, probably English, 1777, silk on wool. Finely stitched religious verse and the Ten Commandments surrounded by birds holding fruit, potted flowers, squirrels and curly tailed dogs with red noses. Sawtooth inner border and stylized outer border. Some imperfections. Framed, 18 1/4"h. 14 1/4"w.
