Japanese ivory okimono, finely rendered elderly man holding child on his left shoulder, lantern in his left hand, the child with upraised left arm, probably catching insects, base with three-character signature, late 19th/early 20th century, 7-1/2 in. Loss to implement in child's left hand, probably a net, age cracks.
