late 19th century; calling card case with inlaid gilt lacquered birds, insects, and flowers, 4 in. L., 2 1/2 in. W., and a needle case with similar decoration, 3 1/4 in. L., 1 3/4 in. W.
Condition: Both have age cracks, discoloration, losses.
