      U.S. MODEL 1840 CAVALRY SABER AND LATER SCABBARD, W. CLAUBERG, SOLINGEN, MID-19TH CENTURY. Brass hilt marked "58" with twisted brass wire wrapped leather covered grip, blade ricasso marked "W. CLAUBERG/SOLINGEN" with later steel scabbard marked "A.M." on the drag. Blade lg. 34 3/4, overall lg. 40 1/2 in.
