      The 28 1/2 inch .57 caliber barrel showing faint proofs at breech. Tang dated 1844 Lockplate marked with eagle over US and at tail Spring/Field/1844. Steel furniture of standard pattern, the fore-end secured by two bands. Walnut stock. Steel ramrod.
