Description

AN OAK AND CAST IRON DICTIONARY STAND, La Verne W. Noyes (American inventor and manufacturer, b. 1849), Chicago, c. 1870's. The cast iron floor stand supports two rectangular oak flaps used to secure a large dictionary (not present), the flaps with spring loaded latches.
