William (Wilhelm) Riess (German, 1856-1919), mountain landscape, watercolor; 4 1/2" x 6 1/2" ; unsigned. Provenance: Previously in the private collection of the Riess family. Riess studied at the Berlin Art Academy. He immigrated to the States in 1884 and settled in Indianapolis, IN.
