Description

NEW ENGLAND FEDERAL SHIELD-BACK OPEN ARMCHAIR, late 18th/early 19th century. Foliate-carved crest, enclosing five similarly-carved vertical stayrails; outswept arms with rounded handrests; stuff-over trapezoidal seat; square tapering legs and H-form stretchers - 36 1/2 in. x 21 1/2 in. x 18 in.
