ANTIQUE IMPERIAL GUARD COSTUME Very elaborate and antique, Chinese embroidered silk, eleven-piece garment of an Imperial guard or officer: each piece with matching design of circular dragon amid waves crest on gilt-threaded ground with allover metal studs and velvet trim; jacket, apron/skirt, shoulder guards with repoussé gilt metal accents, two protective circular metal mirrors, and five decorative lappet attachments (wear, flaws, losses to trim, and probably missing pieces); W: 79" (sleeve-to-sleeve); Provenance: from the Estate of Noel Toy Young
