Founded by CHRISTIAN SELTMANN [b.1870 - d.1921]; Expanded operations by purchasing other factories, incl. KRUMMENNAAB in 1939 and ERBENDORF in 1940; Renamed SELTMAN GROUP - WEIDEN after 1982 and continued to expand by acquiring additional factories, incl. VOLKSTEDT, PLAUE, SCHEIBE-ALSBACH;  Merged with KRONESTER and SCHIRNDING porcelain factories or companies in 1993 to form SKV PORCELAIN UNION [see entry] but has retained the original trade name and some of the factories are still operational; Some trademarks reflect the location of manufacture
