A British trooper's light cavalry saber of 1796 type
Curved 33 inch single edged blade with 11 inch false edge and broad, shallow fuller below the spine. One side etched Ranken/& Co./Calcutta, the spine stamped Thurkle. Iron stirrup hilt, half of the back strap checkered. Shagreen-covered grip.
